If the student is 18 years old, he can apply for a State Grant. Until the student is 19 years old, the size of the grant depends on the parents' income and economic circumstances. The rules are rather complicated, and the size of the grant can only be calculated on the basis of information on each family's specific encomic circumstances. There are special rules for students who are not Danish citizens.
