When you apply for the pre-IB coming from the Danish “folkeskole”, you must fill in TWO application forms:

1. The application form for the Danish “gymnasium” (to be found on www.optagelse.dk, look under “Ungdomsuddannelse”) and
2. The pre-IB application form.

When shall I send in the application form(s)?
- The application deadline for IB is March 10 and for pre-IB March 15.

When can I expect an answer?
- We start assessing the application forms from March 15. Because we go through each application form very thoroughly, the process will take some time and therefore you cannot expect an answer before the end of April. You are welcome to call us earlier if you need an answer quickly because of important matters such as applying for visa, moving countries etc. We cannot guarantee an answer, though. By the end of April we will send you a letter of acceptance or decline.

What is the assessment based on?
- We usually base our assessment on three criteria:

1. International school background, i.e. if you have attended an international school or have been taught in English before applying here.
2. Ability and skills, i.e. your grades (if your report card is in another language than Danish, English, German, French or Spanish, you must send both a copy of the original and a translated version, translated into English by an authorised translator).
3. Need, i.e. you have a special need for an education in English (for instance, being a foreigner who does not speak Danish). The personal statement which we require that you send with the application is therefore of great importance.

What must I do if I also would like a room at the boarding school?
- You must fill in a separate application form for the boarding school.
