Exams
All exams are written, in English, and without books. In all subjects there is an internal assessment, which counts with a certain percentage in the final mark.
Teachers
The teachers of the IB-programme are the teachers of the school, i.e. Danes. They all know their subject in English and have taken part in IB-workshops and language courses, but we are Danish and speak English with a Danish accent, just as the IB-students have many different accents.
What does it cost?
Birkerød Gymnasium is a public school, so tuition is free - paid for by the Danish tax payers. Also, school books are available for free, on loan from the school.
However, we do encourage contributions to the school's Culture Fund.
Counselling
A teacher is assigned to the class as counsellor. Besides the usual career guidance and counselling the counsellor will also advise the students when they have to choose their IB subjects in the spring of their pre-IB year.
Deadline
15 March
See the application forms page for IB and pre-IB application forms.
